On behalf of the Materials Research Society of Thailand (MRS), it gives me great pleasure to wish a very warm welcome to all participants to:
The First Materials Research Society of Thailand International Conference 
(1st MRS Thailand International Conference, MRS-Thailand 2017)

The conference will cover all fields of materials research, namely:
Emerging Solar PV, Energy Storage Materials, Graphene and Carbon Materials, Thermoelectrics, Dielectrics, Piezoelectrics, Ferroelectrics, Superconductors and Energy Harvesting Materials, Magnetic Materials and Their Applications, Materials Joining and Additive Manufacturing Technology, Ceramic  and Glass Technology, Polymer, Rubber, Plastics and Bioplastics, Biomaterials and Applications, Sensors, Organic Electronics and Printed Electronics, Metal, Material Processing and Corrosion, Composites and Construction Materials, Computational Material Sciences, Surface Sciences, Tribology and Thin Film Technology, Catalyst and Materials Chemistry for Green Environment , Instrumentation and Material Characterization, Synchrotron Radiation and Applications on Material Sciences, Material Education in 21st Century, and Material Enterprises and Industries.

In addition to the scientific program, participants will also have the opportunity to enjoy the many charms of the city of Chiang Mai which is rich in local culture and traditions. There will also be social programs to experience the natural beauty and unique attractions of both the city and the surrounding province. In this way, the Organizing Committee aims to make this conference both an outstanding scientific event and a memorable social and cultural experience. Your participation will help us to achieve this.

In closing, may I thank Materials Research Society of Thailand and Chiang Mai University and our co-organizers;Suranaree University of Technology, University of Phayao, Silpakorn University, Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research, Synchrotron Light Research Institute and Newton Fund for their respective contributions. Thanks are also due to the various committees whose hard work and dedication over several months has brought us to this point and made this conference possible.  Last but not least, thanks to all participants, both from within Thailand and from overseas, for supporting this event by sharing your knowledge and experience.
